A grooved equal tee is a three-way pipe fitting used in grooved piping systems to split or join flow in three directions (a “T” shape), where all three ends are the same pipe size. Each end has a grooved connection so it mates with grooved pipe using a mechanical coupling (gasket + housing), no welding or threading required.

A grooved reducing tee is a mechanical pipe fitting used in grooved piping systems that:

• Branches a pipe run into two directions, and

• Reduces size on the branch leg.

Unlike an “equal tee,” where all three ends are the same diameter, a reducing tee has one outlet that’s smaller (or occasionally larger) than the main run.
